Dr.
Arindam Bhattacharyya received his Doctoral degree from University of Delhi in
the area of Plant Sciences in 2002. His work dealt extensively with the gap dynamics
and plant-insect interaction in the tropical wet evergreen forests of Great Nicobar
Biosphere Reserve. In early 2003, he joined the Malaria Research Group at the
International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) for his
Postdoctoral studies. Both his doctoral and post doctoral studies yielded a number
of scientific papers in journals of international repute especially in the areas
of - Evolution and Maintenance of Biodiversity in Tropical Rainforest Ecosystem,
Plant-Insect Interactions and Malarial Vaccine Development Program.
He
joined DST in 2007 and has been actively involved in the Science and Technology
Infrastructure development program.
